![]() I don't know if it's because it's the third game and we are used to it or if it's the setting that doesn't interest me but I found these collectibles to be pretty boring this time and I barely checked them out. I get that with the advancement of graphic quality, the objects don't stand out as much in the scenery as they did back in 1997 so they can be hard to see but this got pretty tedious after three games and sometimes I think I would gave preferred to not have to collect stuff at all. I also don't like how I had to pretty much spam the instinct every time I turned into a corridor or entered a new room to see the treasures and loot. I have extensively documented my playthroughs in Rise with 111 screenshots and in Shadow with 71 and just looking at them makes completely obvious which one had better graphic features and art, it's night and day. All this was known or suspected since the first trailers and images and people were already disappointed. Lara's face is more detailed in Shadow, that is the only better aspect. It was much more inspired in Rise where all tombs were unique and very detailed compared to Shadow where most tombs look like each other and have no unique feeling. The visual downgrade is also apparent in the art. Seems like the only way to enjoy the complete experience was to wait for this "definitive edition".Ĭompared to Rise, the details in the distance are more blurry and undefined, especially the foliage, the lightning is not as good, the underwater effect is barely present, the "wet" effect is simply gone from the game. I see it got like 15 DLC on top of that, which is a complete joke and an insult. After the end boss and cutscene I just straight uninstalled it. It's the first of the new Tomb Raider I didn't finish with 100% completion. The dialogues, especially for side-quests, were extremely boring, the artefacts were boring, the setting was boring, the story was boring, the tombs were boring and not good looking, the shooting was bad, the weapon customization was bad, the picture mode was bad, gun executions are gone, the controls were untrustworthy and often taken away from the player. The third one was a visual downgrade and contains shops and futile side-quests. The second game visually improved on it but tackled some useless RPG elements. The first game was a great survival shooter. Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely. The trilogy was the same for too long.
